As noted before, very reminiscent of sherry, with a Manzanilla like base, overlayed with oxidative notes, quite 'unctuous' - suggesting sweetness - but there is none and a lingering faint scent of curry leaf. Long aftertaste.
Hard to believe this wine can be had for under a tenner. Incredible complexity for the price, another TWS triumph.

Golden colour. Almonds, marzipan and a touch of citrus on nose. Rounded mouthfeel with flavours of citrus, marmalade with a long finish. Very interesting and enjoyable.

Super interesting wine, and one which because of its rather unusual nature seems to elicit lots of comparisons to other styles when people are trying to describe it. I certainly do get the comparisons to Sherry and other oxidative styles, but to describe in those terms feels like it’s robbing the wine of the consideration it deserves.
There’s a really wide range of aromas on show - floral scents, orangey spritz, bruised apple, wet stones, rancio, and quite a particular note which I cannot describe but associate with the Greek spirit Tsipouro. It shifts in the glass but there’s a density to it as well. Completely dry and very intense in the mouth. Despite the absence of sugar there’s a kind of sweet and sour sensation, bitterness too. I get a lot of dried fruit, bitter pith, and tangy (almost fermented) flavours. Long finish.
It certainly benefits from being drunk cellar cool, and paired super well with Comté and olives. Glad I have more.

Fasctinating wine! Definite rancio sherry aromas (nutty, almonds, marzipan), shoe polishing kit! The palate has a suggestion of caramel and honey sweetness but is very linear and with a racy acidity. There is a suggestion of sugar and acid playing off against each other even though it is vinified dry
