Given a couple hours air in the glass. Still bright vibrant purple. Nose is subtle, but showing some saline, toast, red berries. Palate is a little angular, with prominent but very fine polished tannins, with the fruit hiding behind the structure. Fresh. Moderate finish, toast and earth being most prominent with fine dry tannins. Clearly too young. I was hoping this would be more approachable, but it'll need 5yrs for the tannins to recede and show the fruit again. Good potential, score for now.

Rustic, old world Margaux. Medium garnet color becoming translucent rust brick color approaching rim. Lighter to medium body/legs on the glass with rapidly falling tear drops. Black fruit, cassis, mocha, soap, leather on the nose. Medium to full body mouth feel. Nice dark fruit on the palate with spice and mild acidity. Mild tannins. Nice spicy chocolate dry finish. The wine is mellowing out over time and will be a very good table wine for a variety of food pairings.

Healthy red, tons of glycerin, heavy structure. Takes a while to come out. Great balance and lots of fruit. It will still improve.

Showing very nicely! Still tasting red fruit. Bright acidity. Good structure! Very pleased with the way this has matured!

average daily drinking bordeaux wine, not a significant Margaux to me, but 2005 vintage is never a disappointment
