Blackberries on the nose, with tobacco notes. Round, fruity body with a soft structure. A little bit of a Cabernet savoriness on a dry finish. Really, this is exactly how an above-average $7.00 Bordeaux wine should taste! Should be very nice in our mushroom garnish for steak.

Real Bordeaux character for a low, low price. Baked bread, spice, a little dark fruit on the nose. Noticeably high acidity, quite tight and tannic, but decent fruit is there. Finish is a little short but there’s very little to complain about for this price.

$6.99 at Costco; pleasant easy drinker, you get a sense of Bordeaux in this Superieur which is all you can ask for in a $7 wine. Not complex, but better than Ch. Corbin sold next to it at twice the price.
