  Library release from the Zinmaster's cellar...the first bottle I've tried from a blind mixed case, as I have two of these. Open in bottle for an hour...always such a relief knowing perfect provenance...pretty youthful garnet color...nose has some dusty old wine cellar, mushroom farm, cherry liqueur, plum, white pepper, cherry cordial, cigar box. Hmmm...nose is amazing...and it keeps adding on...some mint...coffee...on to the palate...still VERY youthful...first couple sips were not up to par as the nose...very mellow tannins and fruit...more mushroom, sour skin...but as it airs out, it REALLY blossoms...still a more regal claret style...but the fruit has perked up with some raspberry and cherry...caressingly smooth old leather couch tannins...dusty cherrywood spice...subtle complexities of what was on the nose now showing...really elegant and classy texture here. Am a little shocked at how good this is! A wine probably not meant for 28yrs of cellaring...but just goes to show you what good fruit + great winemaker + perfect provenance = a wonderful aged wine experience! And you can do this without spending tons of $$$.
