Still dark red with touch of orange at margins - good fruit concentration with typical chalky tannins giving length hot palate - drinking nicely but suspect fruit will fade so drink up

Was a little concerned after reading some reviews here but this is far from gone. I'd go as far as saying that it is just entering maturity. The fruit is starting to transform in to tertiaries and that should go for another ten years easily. Medium to full bodied, rounded tannins and elevated acidity make this a prime cellar candidate. If provenance is good, it is rare for quality Barbera not to age well and besides Giacomo Borgogna, I'd say Aldo Conterno makes one of the most competitive bottlings in the region. Cheers to both!

this wine is a bit of a mystery to me. It does have hints of very nice flavour but is dominated by a acid not entirely pleasant basic thin body. It may be too young it may be too old but I would have thought neither would have been the case. I should add that the colour was dark and there was no fault in this bottle. on the second day it is better and more in balance which leads me to think that one or two more years will be drinking window.

Still youthful, though showing signs of maturity, enjoyed very much. wish I had a few more bottles. The wine looks inky colored. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like oak, vanilla and violet. It tastes like black currant (cassis) and prune. The body is medium/full. The wine has bright texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Rich dark fruit, perfume, oak & plums. Has matured nicely, and has a good decent finish.
