Wow! PnP. Considered a decanter but all in our group felt to hold off on this after the first taste. Sweet tobacco and damp earth with a hint of anise on the nose. Wonderfully balanced tannins that were in a great place. Darker fruit. Probably drinking at it's absolute prime right now. Distinct layers. A huge crowd pleaser.

Beautiful shiny and dark ruby colour. Tuscan nose with typical licorice and dark cherries, tar, smoke, chocolate-butter. Very juicy and still quite tannic. Rich, concentrated midpalate, full mouthfeel, very long. Elegant, yet still quite adolescent. Great wine with real sense of place. No need to hurry.

Decanted for 2 hrs, very rough at the beginning, but then opens a seductive tuscan/maremma nose with a depth of flavors to explore, still young, give it 2-4 hrs in decanter.
