Pacific Pointe Wine Tasting Club - Syrah Night (Tony and Helen's Home): Dark garnet color with dark red fruit, currant, and a hint of baking spice aromas. On the palate approaching medium-bodied with firm tannins, and somewhat candied dark red fruit, vanilla, and black currant flavors. Medium finish

Cream soda and root beer. Oak and then a little more oak. Big red and black fruits. Nose of the spice, black pepper or meat that I'd expect. Day 2 - a little of the oak settled down. But still no Syrah characteristics in my opinion. Fail.

No complaints. Bright cherry and red fruit, medium tannins, just fine with a beef roast.
