  • The first impression is the intense aroma of raspberries, very fresh and fruity. From the aroma, I wouldn't be able to tell that this was 10 years old. Definitely among the most aromatic Burgs I've had. The color is dark crimson, and the body can be described as light to medium. Initially the palate is full of ripe raspberry and cherry flavors, intense and juicy, but then it dries off to more meaty, savoury notes that then fade into very smooth, softened tannins. I do wish it had a bit more of an acidic kick, but it seems that this was not the year for it. It's sat in its glass for almost an hour now and the fresh fruity flavors have blown off. Boy am I glad I didn't decant and aerate this! Personally, I don't think this will make it to tomorrow with its charm intact so sadly we're going to have to polish this off tonight. And oh yeah, this was 22 bucks! Too bad it was the absolute very last one in the store.
