  • Wonderful aged cab drinking in a nice refined window at 20 years of age. Overall, consistent notes from my last bottle 21 months ago. Round, juicy, a little flat in texture, but still tremendous flavor. Good dark fruit with cinnamon blackberry pie, sweet cherry tobacco, coffee, and leather into the finish. Drink now.

  • Probably slightly better day #1 as there was a nice freshness after decanting for 2 hours. Dark in color with slight bricking at the edges. Mature yet ample black cherry and black raspberry fruit and a nice supple roundness to its body. Good finish where acid and slight tannins clear the palate for more. Some secondary notes of earth, leather and coffee. Nose was not special. Drink it up

  • Decanted 3 hours prior to dinner of grilled filet, baked potatoes, and mixed veggies. Brown, ruby color. Really funky, barnyard nose on opening, but it blew off. Nose of candied cherries, cinnamon spice, earthy raspberries, and a very subtle note of green apples. Medium-bodied palate brings roasted plums, dark cherries, leather, and hints of blackberries. Finish is nice and refined with the tannins soft and delicate. However, the acidity in this wine is alive and kicking and adds a nice juiciness, even at 18 years old. IMHO, I think this can go another 10+ years, but it's good now, so why wait? Happy New Year!

  • Nice nose. Mouth is where it's at. So much going on here... soy sauce, green tea, cherry, raspberry, earthiness. This is Alexander Valley Cab at its best and at its peak. Absolutely delightful.

  • Took an hour for barnyard to dissipate. Decanted for three hours. Great nose....Currants, licorice, leather. Medium body. Bordeaux like. Still holding up well after 18 years, but drink up soon.
