Found in a dark corner of my cellar. Surprisingly OK at 14yrs. Plum, black cherry, chocolate, heat, and alcohol. Exceeded (low) expectations. Really a pretty good Monday night wine with burgers and fries.

Much better than expected. After getting past the copious amounts of oak char, this had good weight and balance without being over-the-top. Holding together nicely under screw cap. Some decent syrah character actually.

Pop & pour. Nice nose of sweet peppery berry fruit. Flavors of blackberry pie, mocha and vanilla on the finish. Probably drinking at, or just a tad past peak (less than optimal storage conditions for this bottle), but still very enjoyable.

Dark with lite viscosity and a bunch of unpleasant, mucky sediment in the glass. Interesting, closed nose of bramble, forest floor, pepper and cherry cola (empty can). Bright, ripe fruit initially, then goes darker mid-palette with tannin providing some grip. Some interesting secondary smoke and wet stone. The finish is diluted and too sour, but fortunately it's short. O.K. for ten bucks.

Some prior bottles had harshness, but not this one. Simple but pretty big fruit. Good QPR.
