Not the most rewarding Gewurtz ever. A lovely floral nose but you kinda expect that from the grape anyway. The problem with this wine that doesn't push it to higher points is not that it smells of perfume (which is nice), but that it tastes a little like it too. This is a recurring problem for me with this grape. For £6, you can't really complain about this, it's nice, I've had it a couple times and enjoy it, but it needs to be chilled down - as it warms the alcohol starts showing and it loses it a bit.
Don't get me wrong, this is very nice, but it didn't blow my mind.

What a cracking surprise. This was left in the freezer to cool down and I forgot about it, so when I did eventually pull it out is was literally all ice. Let the wine defrost and so the wine was super chilled. Probably not the best preparation for a wine. The result? Lovely oily, semi-thick wine with notes of petrol, petals, oil, melon - classic Gewurztramminer nose - this really is excellent. Taste: lovely restrained sweetness to it and a pleasant, thick mouth coating texture. Good acidity to cut through the sweetness. Long smooth finish. This really is quite superb for the price. Paid £6. Excellent.

Quite a rich mid-gold colour; fine bubbles adhere to the inside of the glass, but there is absolutely no spritz. The fragrance is amazing - rich, pure, immensely appealing fruit, a blend of peach, citrus and perhaps something approaching melon. The ravishing aromas continue onto the palate, which is dry but so full that it comes across as at least off-dry. It developed well in the glass, but I suggest service it pretty well-chilled - the first glass was not quite cold enough and lacked a sharp edge. Cooler, it was better, and as good as I could have hoped for at this price. [£6.99]
