  • Overall a bit muted - shy and retiring type. Age adds a bit of interest. Very nice at the discounted price.

  • I thought this was going to be quite good when I first opened it, nice fruit, minerality and oak, but it never really did anything. Sure it was reasonably priced and only entry level white burgundy, would last and might even develop a little, but for the same money I could have had a much better Chardonnay form California, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand... I've drunk quite a bit of basic white Bourgogne this year and not really been impressed with any of them.

(Jadot Louis Bourgogne Blanc) A few bottle of this have already been consumed this summer. Sweet, high-toned, creamy, oaky nose. Sweetness on the palate to, with good acidity, a good mid-palate and a faint coconut cream finish - though a bit of an 'empty gap' when first in the mouth. Great value for ~€8.5

(Jadot Louis Bourgogne Blanc) Medium yellow. The nose is sweet smelling once the oak disperses, a mix of pineapple and the exotic. The palate has good acidity and a real burst of ripe, cream edged fruit. The length is quite good. Whereas the 01 is about minerality this is about sweet, ripe fruit. Excellent bourgogne, I expect lots of 'outings' for this over the coming months.
