  • Consistent with previous note. This is drinking much better right now than some of the other village 05s I've had recently. Tasty.

  • Based on all my searches on the internet, it appears that this is only the 2nd time that Marchand has made this wine with the other year being 2002. Medium bodied - beautiful raspberry color. Strawberries and some dirt on the nose. The wine is beautifully balanced, nice sharp acidity upfront with a bit of bacon and leather, soft chewy tannins. Develops really well and finishes with great sour cherry aftertaste, which turns slightly sweet at the finish. Great with food, tasty and pleasant on its own. On the 2nd night, the dirt bacon and leather were gone and it was just a juicy tasty wine. There were some nice orange flavors that accompanied the sour cherry. This should have solid 2-3 years ahead of it. Great for the price. 88-90
