(Galil Mountain Yiron) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-lots of black currant; oak & vanilla on the back-end; TASTE-very similar to what you get out of California -- very big fruit, heavy oak; lot of fruit; a little over-the-top for me; a little grape juice like on the mid-palate and then a little hot on the back-end; if you like big fruit and oak you'll like this; DR-91; GV-88

Outstanding bottle 18 Years old. Still had pronounced tanins, burgundy color in glass, still some dark fruit, good finish, bouquet was a bit raunchy.

2000-2005 Yiron tasting (PYUP wine shop): magnum
quality aroma & palate, though somewhat jammy
still a very good wine

Mature Israeli wines tasting - 2004 vintage (Benhaim winery): ripe fruity tertiary aromas & flavours, a bit over the peak, still drinkable and enjoyable. Med finish.
