Initially the oak dominates the black fruit. With more time open, showed heavy smoky tobacco notes. The palate is still full of oak, plum and jammy black fruit. A lot of acidity and alcohol, with its full body it will be interesting to watch this one.

Dark plummy garnet colour. Nose of bacon, poblano pepper, a little dust and spice.
On the palate it's surprisingly harsh, with strong, mouth-puckering and drying tannins and some nice acidity. It's a little Cab like in structure/feel. A fair bit of oak and some tobacco; fairly astringent on the whole. Less bacon, but still loads of poblano, and some dried cherry fruit. Finish is smoky, spicy, slightly bitter from tobacco. Best decanted.
