Just popped this evening, not expecting much from such an aged CdRV BUT, this wine surpassed my wildest expectations. Deep ruby core, not much bricking that I could discern. Nose a bit funky & earthy, not exhibiting much fruit. However, on the palate, plenty of jammy black raspberries and cherries, along with earth, iron & black pepper. Still a bit tannic, on the smoky/spicy side with good length. Talk about a great value...Really delish!

Loved this wine -- a classic Rhone red. Still had a good core of bright red raspberry and cherry fruit, which was well integrated with earthy, spicy and smoke aromas. Medium-bodied, and easy to drink. Very nice effort for the price; it was easily better than a 2000 entry level CDP we had a few days previous.

Medium dark red with a salmon rim. On opening all that was showing was a lot of low tones and sweetness, but after a day, some of the terroir crept through the ripeness, taking the form of rather high-toned animality and weediness. Sweet flavors and low acidity in the style of the year. Finishes with peppery tannins and trace warmth, but for the most part the potent alcohol is masked very well. A sweet, New World style that's easy to drink and lacking some liveliness but still hard not to like.

15 years old and singing in 6 part harmony. Lush rich velvety. A superb CdR V.

Pleasant, holding up ok. Still decent fruit. Relatively low acidity beginning to bring it down.
