  • You don't see that many rosé wines coming out of Piedmont and those made from Barbera are even rarer these days and after having this one, I am left to wonder why that is the case? Color is a little darker then most French rosé and this was really quite tasty with nice acidity and texture with a dash of dark and tropical fruits on the palate. Stands on its own quite well but also goes great with a wide variety of foods and appetizers and at $15, its also a pretty good deal too.

  • Barbera rose? Brilliant! It has acidity, color, and wonderful dried cherry flavors. La Ghersa's higher-end single-vineyard barbera red is wonderful, but for the price I marginally prefer this excellent rose.

(Cascina La Ghersa Barbera Rosé Piage) Big tart red fruit nose; solid, tasty, tart red fruit with high acidity; medium finish (great with the squab)
