  • Bought this for $7 on closeout 10+ years ago. First of a 3-pack from that closeout purchase. Drinking beautifully. Full rich nose has dark fruit that is just slightly roasted (but not over the top) with loads of herb. Palate has medium body with terrific leafy and herby character. Good persistence and balance to continue aging.

  • terrific. spicy nose with hints of ink, blood, damp pine needles, and a mystery sweetness (this sounds disgusting but trust me, it's great); on the palate the wine is rich and broad but not at all baked (amazing given the vintage), with a slight hoppiness, ending in a field of tanniins that are already quite resolved. just about perfect for what it is.

  • Shows ton of potential - lots of fruit stuffing. Dark fruits, asian spice. Tannic and drying...especially on the finish. Do not touch again for 2 - 3 years.

Rockss and Fruit

(Clos Roche Blanche Cot) I love this stuff. So minerally. The nose starts off red berries, violets, soy and chalky minerals. Velvety and full of fruit on the palate but with a slight granular texture and beautifully defined ripe fruit. Tangy acidity shows up on the finish along with berry skins but this wine finished very mineral. Lovely grainy tannins. Really long complex finish. Usually this is a wine that has legs but the '03 seems just great and is in no danger of closing up.
