  I don't know where it comes from but the deep surge of memory and excitement that you get when you are reminded of the first great burgundy you ever had is one of the most thrilling and elusive experiences out there. For me, it is a combination of the texture of taffeta, the smell of fudge and game and the taste of warm strawberries. And lo and behold this wine just gave it to me. It is a wine approaching maturity but still with a tannic twist at the end which as much as anything adds structure. This is good stuff.
