  Somewhat translucent and moderately developed, maroon-hued cherry red color that turns quite pale towards the rim. The nose is sweet and developed with aromas of wizened dark fruits, an odd streak of something buttery, some ripe dark berries, a little bit of herbal character and a hint of strawberries. The wine feels quite full-bodied, somewhat soft and round on the palate with ripe, dry-ish flavors of strawberries and succulent plums, some developed tobacco character, a little bit of wizened blackcurrants and a hint of fresh blackberries. Although the wine comes across as somewhat soft and sweet, it is still surprisingly structured with moderately high acidity and surprisingly grippy, moderately pronounced tannins. The finish is juicy, quite grippy and rather long with dark-toned flavors of plummy fruits, some strawberries, a little bit of dried dark fruits and a hint of old cigars and cedary cigar box.
  
  Nobody in our tasting of 13 Bordeaux wines had any expectations concerning this wine, but taking that into account, this wine really took many by surprise. Based on how a most recent release of Mouton Cadet is drinking now, nobody was really expecting this wine to be alive, but instead this was drinking very nicely and even showing relatively youthful character if its lowly standing is taken into account! Furthermore, the wine was structured more like a firm, classic claret - not like a simple, inexpensive AOC Bordeaux. Of course this wine posed no real challenge to any of the big guns in the tasting, but as the dark horse of the tasting, this wine - very surprisingly - managed to punch above its weight. I'd say the wine was quite reasonably priced for its quality at 19€.

  Found this old party wine hiding in my cellar. Opened it expecting it to be bad… a 16 year old $12 wine. A huge surprise… it was fine. In fact, had improved over the years in my 56 degree cellar. Color still good. It was pleasant though rather simple.

  Stored in a cool cellar during 11 years. Slightly over the top, no tannines at all, but very sweet wine. Brownish collor, odor of soil and rubber, very sweet taste.
