Light floral cherry nose, medium level red fruit, low acid, no tannins apparent, medium length pleasant finish. Overall lighter weight than we expected.

P/P: cork fell apart; rose petals on the nose; lighter style with good slightly sweet, perfectly ripe red fruit, some flowers; tannins resolved and acidity is modest; still good, but i don't see this getting better; worked with shrimp risotto.

I'm glad I opened this, as the cork was nearly infiltrated to the top. Overall, the wine was not as moribund as the recent reviews led me to fear. The nose was very promising, with an Oregonian pinot richness. The fruit was still there, although very subtle, with a dominant strawberry component. Conspicuously absent were acidity, spice, earth, and cherry that are common to the W-S style. A hint of oak was present only on the first few sips. Soft tannins are gone, leaving the wine very dry. There is something quasi-Burgundian about its current state, but even Burgundy falls off with enough time. I agree with the general opinion here that this wine needs to be consumed now, if you have any remaining. Don't try to pair it with food (unless you are much more talented at cooking/pairing than I), as it will likely get overpowered by even a saltine cracker.

Austere and unyielding. See how this develops.
Noticed some florality. Perhaps needs more time.

I enjoyed this more than my prior bottle. Faded fruit, not getting too much oak. I opened it an hour in advance. Palatable.
