High octane and sweet with ripe tropical fruit flavors. Not much change since the previous bottle we opened about three years ago--it strangely seems to be motoring along where most 07 CA whites would be gone by now. But what good that does anyone I don't know, it's not a dinner wine and it's not a dessert wine and it's too strong for your MIL who otherwise likes fruitbombs.

I did not enjoy this at ALL. It was weird weird weird... sweet, even cloying, bizarrely round and ponderous on the palate but with this aggressively sharp character at the finish of raw alcohol and unpleasantly intrusive cooking spices; I couldn't bring myself to finishing the bottle. Cult wine or not, the only reason this even scores in the 70's is cuz of how "unique" it was. I enjoyed the expressions on my friends' faces as they tasted this, and I also quite enjoyed being thoroughly surprised myself. Beyond that, I'd actually avoid this particular wine. I've heard it often said that Abe's efforts turn out either fantastic wines or absolutely atrocious results; I'd peg this as an example of the latter, and all I can say is that I'm glad I didn't pay for the bottle I tasted. For a big alcohol, off-the-beaten-path Napa white that ironically shares a lot of attributes with this wine but just does everything far better, I'd go with Orin Swift's Mannequin all day, any day.

No memory of this besides it being interesting and slightly over the top.

Good, not great--I keep finding these too out of balance for my palate.
