I've had this bottle since 2008 and thought it was the first wine (i.e. Chateau Fonplegade) as I had entered into CT that way. However, it is the 2nd wine of this estate and all I can say is "wow" this kicks butt. I did a splash decant/aerate and started drinking it and it has cinnamon spice and dried raspberry and all kinds of cool stuff on the nose. The palate has acidity and you can feel the tannins though they are soft enough at this age. Long 20-30 second finish. I did likely over-pay when I bought this at the NH Liquor store 8 years ago as they had it marked at $54.99 and that is the average value for the first wine from this estate but at this point I don't care as it is delivering the goods for me and out-pointed an '05 Pavie-Maquin I opened a couple of years ago. Go figure, the wonderful world of wine!

Very closed, and after one hour in the decanter, not a whole lot better.
