  Becoming a big fan of the Vinyard Block Estate wines. This was the 2017 vintage and my first Merlot from this vineyard and it did not disappoint. Beautiful rich red color as expected and the aroma of strawberry was immediate. I let the wine sit for an hour before drinking and while the strawberry aroma was still prevalent I also was picking up some raspberry. The sip was sweeter than I typically care for (I am usually a cab drinker) but not so much so that it wasn’t enjoyable. Really soft mouthfeel and a clean finish. Was a big hit with my wife as well. She often is not a fan of my cabs but she shared the entire bottle with me. Really happy with this purchase and have a few bottles left to enjoy.

  Very good bottle! Benefited from aeration when first opened, it opened up on its own very nicely after a couple of hours, and was still enjoyable the second night. Dark in color, the flavors were typical, but a very good example of California merlot.
