  • Tasted blind. Some berries and red fruit with a hint of smoke on the nose. Medium-high acidity with tart berries, and quite linear flavors. Feels a bit thin overall and a medium-short finish. This was not that pleasurable to drink and quite disappointing given the producer.

  • Wow. a beautiful wine. This is a perfect example of why we love Burgundy. Perfectly aged.

  • Birthday lunch: Wonderfully Chambolle. Plenty of fruit; ripe, maturing. Cut by a refreshing streak of bloody mineral. Notes of game, cinnamon. Deep and long. Early maturity now. Interestingly, best in the first hour or so - the mineral became medicinal, almost Robitussin and less enjoyable for it. 94

  • Wow -- seems there to be a fair bit 'o' variability in tasters' experiences with this wine. This taster's with this bottle = extraordinarily positive. Only downside is a slight bit of harshness on the finish. Otherwise this is singularly intriguing and delicious. Cork was oxidized, as too often seems to be the case with wines from this Domaine. Overfilling is a bugaboo.

Really earthy, in the best possible way. Clearly Chambolle as well. Gorgeous. One of those events where the right bottle meets the right time.....

  • Very Chambolle to open out of the bottle. Burgundy color. Perfumed nose. The longer this was open, the funkier and skunkier this became. Goji fruit tainted with an awkward finish. Some sour. Overnight, this completely imploded and this is now a proper mess. Some love this producer, but the notes are really uneven (see Mongeard). This was an easy vintage, they $crewed the pooch here. 77 just because it had a glimmer of Chambolle on the nose. I can't say this is good at 80 plus.
