This was my last bottle of a wonderful Barbaresco. Had this along with a 2020 Tignanello which it kept up with stride for stride. Opened it about 2 hours before we tried it. Beautiful wine.

This was a surprisingly nice wine with tons of flavor. I used an aerator to pour it into large glasses and let it sit for 30 minutes in the glass. This process seemingly brought out as much flavor as possible.

No decanting. Pop and pour Fully mature colour Super complex nose of typical rosewater and chocolate cherries Still a tannic bite in the mouth with a beam of sweet acidity (yes!!) You keep on coming back to it Did I mention this is great My last bottle, many drunk to young?

Wirklich geile Marzipannase!

Eucalyptus and a bit of bretty earth on the nose. On the palate, light cherry, strawberry, rose petal, and notes of anise and earth on the medium finish. This was drunk alongside a 1996 Barolo, and it was more delicate and sophisticated compared to the Barolo, which tasted young and powerful at 20 years old with a long drinking window to come while this 2005 seemed to be early in its peak phase. The women in the party went straight for the Barbaresco, while I somewhat preferred the Barolo -- a demonstration of the "masculine/feminine" stereotype between the two wines. Average value at a bit under $40.
