If you like big, American, wines, you will love this. A nose that is "in your face" and a palate that has settled, but is still full of concentrated berries, with resemblance of Hermitage. 95 if you like this style, maybe 85 if you don't. I get the impression one should drink this now, as the fruit feels rather dry.
Dinner at Bolt. Still impenetrable purple in color. No doubt this is from California as it is a massive fruit bomb yet it has an old world elegance to it. Black plums, vanilla bean, cassis and blackberries. Very full bodied with an extremely long spicy finish. Continued to open and expand its flavor profile throughout dinner. Drinking perfectly today but should continue to do so for at 15 more years. 50+14+15+9+9.5=97.5

(Lillian Winery Syrah) Stunning, almost opaque, exquisitely concentrated yet beautifully balanced, this Lillian is lush, meaty, and fruity, with jammy blackberries, leather, and bittersweet chocolate on the palate and a two-minute finish. It’s plush, like crushed velvet over blackberry syrup. Cult Wines for Tough Times
