Opened not decanted. I picked this up today looking for a decent inexpensive burg. Unfortunately, this is not quite what I was looking for. This wine, while decent, should be consumed with food and is not a wine to be enjoyed by itself. It shows loads of tart cherry with a little earthiness; and ends with a sour tart finish that dries out the palate. However, it should pair nicely with lamb, beef stew or something with a lot of cooked animal juices. We had it with angel hair pasta with fresh from the garden tomato sauce and it is not a recommended pairing. Fair to Good.
