French barrique is perfectly judged. The is no shortage of red fruit, but it is rather lean and the high acidity reinforces the idea of marginal ripeness. Yet, despite this ascetic style, it is one that appeals to me due to the sheer purity of the fruit. Very good plus and should still handle some cellaring.
