  • Drinking perfectly. Plenty of life left here. Perfect balance. Pour ultra light, but turns redder in the glass. No decant, pop and pour. Tasted good right out of the bottle, but opened up and integrated over the next 90 minutes or so. This is a 10 year old California Pinot, and it's wonderful right now. I think there's plenty of structure here for another couple of years. Strawberries and cherries dance with touches of pepper and a tannin backbone, all integrated together beautifully. I don't usually rave about Pinot like this. My score has gone up as I write this, and think about it. Really terrific, and a steal of a QPR. (We bought this at the winery years ago. One more bottle to go!)

  • This wine has been sleeping in cellar (60F) for 8 years. Pulled it out on a lark last night, fearing it might be past it's prime. It wasn't, it was lovely!. Color: med burgundy, very slightest of bricking at edge. Did not decant, or even give much air time. Wasn't necessary. Nose: Strawberry and cherry, slightly muted. Some floral overtones. On th epalate. Highly integrated fruit, still quite nice acidity and tartness back of the palate. Finish: Quite long, clean and dry. Some residual berry and earthiness. Quite impressed. Saved half the bottle with vacu-vin for 2nd night observation.

  • Cherry cola and strawberry with a nice floral bouquet. Good acid. Nice wine for $20 price point.

  • Nice nose, some light fruit with minimal floral bouquet. I would not keep this one any longer. It should be drunk soon.

  • Completed a vertical with '06-08. The '06 had great dried fruit nose and taste, with prune and date flavors. Solid finish. The '06 was the most complex of the three. Linda's choice.

    (C. Donatiello Russian River Pinot Noir) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-really nice candied strawberry; rubber band action; hint of coffee/mocha action; TASTE-a very complete Pinot Noir w/ massive structure and a huge backbone; dominated by raspberries; very nice and long finish; some Creme Brule on the back-end; very solid; almost Burgundian on the back-end w/ sheep's butt & earth tones; 3-5 years of cellaring; WS-99; GV-90+
