Day 1 - Central Coast Tastings (Central Coast - CA): Fierce and zippy. This had a ton in the acidity and structure department. Lots of fresh fruits and herbal notes made this a gorgeous accompaniment to the 90 degree Santa Ynez afternoon.

This wine really benefitted from some air. Straw colored. Grapefruit peel, apple, and chalk nose. Tart, minerally palate. Bitter lime finish. Really bracing acidity - this wine needs food. Not bad, but probably not worth the price, for me.

Store Four Cooking Demo (Store Four): This is bright, clean, and delicious. I'm not sure I'd pay the extra money over the regular Sancerre bottling, but there is no doubting that this is quality stuff. 90-91

Pale. Crackling, typical grapefruit but otherwise, nothing special. Lean without any extra dimension. Hard to justify the price for something that seems like standard issue Sancerre and is not discernibly better than Crochet's Croix du Roy. I found it better a few months ago, but disappointing tonight.
Hmm, maybe I underestimated this. After a night in the refrigerator, it showed much more focused, piercing citrus, minerality, and an almost Grappa-like spirity finish. Much more interesting now.

Half bottle - great minerality with strong citrus - well balanced.
