  • i absolutely loved this when tasted at the winery and was just as impressed, if not more, with consuming a bottle. golden color. tropical nose with pineapple being the most prominent. just a tad prickly as well. this is fermented in huge 630 gallon oak tanks and the influence is extremely subdued. no butter notes to speak of. if i didn't know better i'd swear this was unoaked chardy. i got pineapple and green apple on the palate with just a bit of citrus. the star of this wine is the finish though. it just goes and goes and goes. i wish i would've grabbed more of this while in northern MI. these new kids on the old mission peninsula block are making some serious wine.

  • Fantastic blend of ripe tropical fruit flavors (mango and pineapple - fresh honeycrisp apples maybe) balanced with delicate oak nuances and an explosive, prolonged finish. That finish lasts for a year and a day. The alcohol is not distracting, but get's close if the wine is too warm (end of the bottle was hot). Large oak tank was used for aging, so the oak is barely noticeable - fruit is the main delight here. It was just bottled a month or two before we bought it - can't wait to re-visit it again in awhile. Best Chardonnay we've had from Old Mission Peninsula, wait for it... EVER!
