  • Although I still love the label and concept and general attitude of this wine, when it comes to actually drinking it, its just a blended 96-97-98 zin thats starting to fade and the joke's wearing a bit thin. Still....

  • I bet 99% of you in this entire data base have never even heard of this wine, much less know of its hilarious beginnings!

Stu Pedasso is the name that the FDA (or who ever regulates wineries and their labels) and the guys behind this effort could finally agree upon after several failed attempts that were alot closer to the true meaning of the title (wink).

They made it up in loads on the back label however which reads:

"Stu ("I never met a wine I didn't like") Pedasso is living his dream of making wine in Sonoma County with the proceeds from selling the family farm in Silicon Valley.

Stu ("the bottle stops here") Pedasso vows to continue farming until the money runs out.

Stu selected the best wine from three vintages; 1996, 1997 and 1998. Not knowing what else to do, he decided to blend them together and bottle it up to enjoy with a picnic on the beach.

    And the saga begins... "

I heard through the grapevine (pun soooo intended) that this was actually made at Topolos at Russian River Vineyards although I don't know whether or not the grapes came from the old vines of Rossi Ranch which have produced so many memorable bottles over the past century or so.
