  • PnP quick decant for sediment (minimal). The cork looked new -elastic without any signs of seepage. Great fruit dark fruit aromatics burst on the scene with fruit and secondary flavors of herbs and mineral on the well integrated tannins and satisfying finish. While this is mature it is not showing any signs of tiredness. Within 15 min this was on fire, very well balanced overall and quite elegant and silky. From a bottle perfectly storage that has not moved for about 18 years. A real treat. I don't see much upside but should drink well for another 3-5 without issues. (for reference we had a Mas Doix 2004 VV a week ago & this was at least as good !)

  • This bottle has been in my cellar for a long while. Not 21 years but much of that time.

    Good quality cork, thankfully.

It’s mature wine, some bricking of colour, although the finish is still grippy, tannin and acid. It’s lost the obvious Cabernet character it once had.

I was going to write that while it’s a fine wine my patience hasn’t been greatly rewarded but it improves in the glass and with food. Then again it was probably equally good 5 years ago. Quite a bit of balsamic vinegar now.

    Drink up.

    Cork, 14%.

  • Marvelous aromas, resolved tannins, really delicious on the PnP. First glass was definitely better than the last, though, as it seems to lose flavor to the air.

  • Very nice, unique blend that starts out with Grenache qualities, then opens up into more of the aromas and flavors I associate with a good Cab. Lots of fine sediment, so much so that the last two glasses tasted a bit muddy despite a pour through the Vinturi with mesh.

  • This wine is finally fully mature, and showing outstanding secondary characteristics. Very well structured, and highly aromatic. Kind of resembles a traditional Rioja on steroids. Drink.
