  • Opened, not decanted. Bricking-purple in color. Dark fruit flavors of blue and black fruits are mature, but still drinking fresh after a bit of air. Nicely balanced, with a medium-long finish.

  • Blackberry, plum and cranberry fruit backed up by woody herbs and rich soil notes. Nice acidic balance, tannins integrated but present and a teeny tiny prick of heat, but for wine boasting 15.5% abv it is hardly noticeable. In a great drinking window and I don't detect any sign of decline anytime soon. Another 5 years.

  • Time has been very good to this wine. Minimal browning at the edge.
Very aromatic with a slight funk as expected. Cherry, blackberry, earth, and a hint of oak. Great balance with good acidity. The tannins are silky smooth in the medium finish. Not sure if this would improve with more time. Really good now.

  • Dark burgundy center with a violet rim. Incredibly expressive nose of blackberry, dark cherry, plum, and soy with a deft touch of oak. The flavors rumble across he palate with cherry, blackberry, apple skin, chocolate, soil, and a slight hint of oak. There is excellent acidity that balances the youthful fruit, and the tannins are fully integrated in this medium-bodied wine. Overall, this is an outstanding wine with incredibly youthful fruit and balanced acidity, and while the tannins have softened, they are still present on the finish. It was very enjoyable on its own but did not add anything when paired with baked ziti with sausage.
