Tea or honey color, full bodied, thick unctuous, bright full aromas and tastes of apricot accented by tones of fig, hints of peach and a layer of leather and smoke. The apricot fruit aromas are more pronounced than the flavors which are a bit more subdued, giving way to the non-fruit notes of smoke and leather. Delightful and satisfying none-the-less.
At Alinea (Chicago). Strikingly honeyed color, almost as dark as the Sherry. Rich, mature nose of fig, apricot, dried peach, and spice. In the mouth, coats the palate with a lovely range of honeyed fruit, along with a notable spice component. More acidity than a German TBA, yet somehow more rounded at the same time. Beautifully long finish. A-
