I recall this was one of those Sams lunchtime deals, which we loyal customers would receive via email on an almost daily basis. Well for $15 at this point in time I cannot complain. Dark purplish red, effusive oaky, smoky aroma, quintessential Bordeaux, what we expect. On the palate, a lot of tannin still, wood, restrained fruit and a somewhat greenish bitter finish perhaps that slightly spoils the whole experience.

Dark ruby red, the nose is a quintessential Bordeaux, lots of wood and subdued brooding dark fruit. I think I could have placed it without prior knowledge. Despite the age, notable structure, and, as is characteristic, restraint of fruit versus the rest; lots of cedary, cigarette box, espresso, dark chocolate, graphite. Not great length but satisfying.

Deep clear ruby color. Lots of leather on the initial nose which masks any hint of fruit, really closed. Some cherry on the palate. Tannins are integrated and soft. Finish is soft and somewhat short.
Day 2: Much less leather on the nose and more fruit. More fruit showing on the palate as well.

pleasant, small bodied with only a little brickish color at the rim. Holding up well, plummy fruit and well balanced. But the nose was closed. Will hold up for at least a few years yet.

Deep ruby color leads to a nose of graphite, currant and cherry. The palate contains flavors of cherry, cedar, clove, and currant. This finishes with pleasant tannins. While the midpalate is hollow, this enjoyable wine goes well with meatloaf.
