Drank at home after the National Day Parade. Cienna is a New World grape variety, bred in Australia by crossing Cabernet Sauvignon with the Spanish variety Sumoll. Dark, beeroot purple, with a nose choked full of blackcurrant and blueberries and a very similar profile on the palate, which had a hint of spritz, a light sprinkle of tannin, refreshing acid an interesting woody aftertaste with and a hint of spritz. This tasted very cassis-liquer like - almost like drinking sparkling ribena. Very, very simple, but super-friendly, nicely balanced and very enjoyable on a warm night.
