Various Vintage California Wine Dinner - Corkbuzz in NYC (Corkbuzz - NYC): Holding well with good fruit and good balance still. Nice red cherry fruit roll-up, compote strawberry and vanilla. Secondary flavor of toasted walnuts and almonds. Nice smooth wine, would drink now but could hold for a few more years. Paired with monkfish risotto w/ chorizo and ramps.

Still deep red. More muted fruit, still plenty of character. Good acid, balanced palate feel with chocolate and earthy tones in the middle, edging on the finish, short not lingering. Not sweet or soft despite age. Stood up to easter ham.

I liked this much more the first night. It was much more delicate and feminine with soft cherry and currant flavors and the classic SC earthyness on the nose. The second night its more clumsy and heavy with just a bit too much sweetness. But, there is a warm brown sugar note with some baking spices on the finish.

Wow, this is holding its own quite well! Still vibrant acidity, plenty of fruit, and some funk. Pleasant surprise.
