Bought as a library release about 10 years back and didn't pay a lot. Birth year wine, and honestly wasn't expecting too much. Poured dark amber, with a nose of caramel baked apple. Palate was medium + bodied, with still a little kick of acidity. Identifiable as Riesling, and definitely still enjoyable. It's not going to get any better, but at 45 years of age 1) it's likely to hold at this point for a little longer and 2) it's remarkable that it's still alive! Will my last bottle make it to 50??

It opened closed with a strong petrol component. It opened up into a beautiful, complex wine. Fruit, caramel, citrus, petrol. It was the wine of the day, and there were a lot of wines on the table.

Still going strong, and the best of several bottles consumed over the past few years. Reminiscent of the previous bottle ("Simultaneously fresh and mature, featuring a heady nose of petrol, stone fruit, roasted nuts, petrol, and even some forest floor"), with an amazing texture, but the finish was noticeably longer. Great bottle of wine.

Look as dark as a matured Sauternes, surprisingly light body, some Glycerin feel, smooth, not too fragrant or complex. Reticent nose later gave a weak indication of fruit, way past prime but drinkable. Sweetness like a Spatlese, moderate finish. 91-
