Splashed 1/2 bottle in decanter for 2 hours and it was nice, but second half on day two was even better. Consistent bouquet with 10 months ago - nose is still smashing, palate maybe fading back a little to reveal previously unnoticed heat that I could do without, but should be expected given the origin. Luscious, peppery, smooth, and really has some facets that I attribute to the terroir of this vineyard. 5+13+16+8 = 92

Radiant, dark ruby color, about 80% opaque. At the pop, aroma is very intense and tight, like it’s under pressure and waiting to burst open with black cherry, camphor, juniper, and lavender. After a couple hours those notes are singing and some licorice and baby powder round out the bouquet. Huge and rich palate with very complex flavors and a big glycerin factor. Cassis, mint, and anise show through a very long finish where I really notice some generous acidity. Accompanying heat but to achieve this level of concentration, it goes with the territory. The tannins are smoothly integrated and although I think this wine can improve, it is very enjoyable with a good aeration. I suppose it should be grouped with Mollydooker fans but this is more alluring, more complicated, and less like vintage port. 5+14+17+8 = 94

Color a little darker than the Fromm. Nose of black olives, dark fruit, eucalyptus. More of a dark fruit character than the Fromm, but equally as satisfying. Really. Beautiful. Shiraz.

Eden Valley is the high country. wildly minty on the nose. and it just keeps on developing further in the glass. lemongrass!!! crazy mint and lemongrass across the palate. great contrast with the 2005 Fromm Vineyard Shiraz. Trying to talk terroir in Australia. Both these wines get the same treatment at the winery and are giving us great opposing Shiraz today.

This is planted in the 1920s. Why? Nobody knows because they wouldn't have been making fortfied. This one could be consider a cabernet. Mint, eucy, and raspberry. Big and lush but with some tannins. Nice acid spine the wine maker notes.
