  • Opened last night for dinner. In terms of color maybe younger than most of the red burgundies of the 1990's. Tannin pronounced offered little. Put a cork in it - 2/3 of the bottle - and put it in the fridge.
24 hours later very much in fine shape - beautiful red fruit flavors are creeping into the mix but tannin remains predominant. What is most noticeable is the extract - very much a mouth coating wine.
    Interestingly a fully branded cork - vineyard/year.
Two days later still very much alive - red fruit but the tannin remains.

Basically stored unmoved in a refrigerator (refrigerated cellar) since 1986.

Cork back in and back into the fridge - 1/3 full.

  • A matured Burg is always a treat. This was no exception. Well matured and fully ready. Quite a nice spectrum of well integrated matured flavours. Delicate and elegant, yet poised and with a presence.

  • Tasted three Red Burgundy blind with Mike and James-third place. Rich, red raspberry nose and touch of barnyard, more of the same on the palate, long, rich acid taste, medium finish.
