Beautiful mature nose of jammy, dark fruit and vanilla. Clean with good acidity and balance. Firm finish with integrated tannins. Best Australian Merlot I have tasted.

Aged nose, with notes of blackberry, dried mint and seared beef. The palate has some sour acid, some sweet red berry fruit and hints of chocolate and milk. Looking a little old and dusty, but still good.

Fairly tight and firm; it opened up slowly over a few hours in the decanter. Dark but faint nose of raspberry, plum and barbecued meat. Palate is long, firm, and straight, with a rich package of dark fruit (black raspberry, blueberry, blackcurrant, black cherry) with a big whiff of voilet/musk perfume underneath. A hint of nail polish is the only negative. This is drinking very well now: intense, dark and tannic, but not overwhelmingly so. I believe this is just past its peak, but from here it will develop into a very interesting older wine: looser and lighter, with notes of mushroom, truffle and balsamic vinegar.

The colour of an old yet rich Merlot. A lot of black cherry and plums fruit in the nose. Velvet textured wine with beautiful notes of plums again and also some chocolate and earth. Drank this vintage a couple of years before when it was maybe even better, but still 90 points!
