Mmmmm! A lucious Pinot. I savored every sip of it. Excellent aroma - and it tasted every bit as good as it smelled. But don't expect much earthiness. Not this vintage, at least.

Last of the dozen or so of these I've gone through over the last few years. The 07 Pinot might be the best of Trefethen's vintages. This bottle seems to have dropped off considerably from my previous bottles. Storage conditions were the same. Very good - but not nearly as good as the others I've had from this vintage.

Well, it seems as though I am in the minority on this one. I am a huge fan of Trefethen, having been a member of their wine club for years. This wine, however, did not seem much like 'pinot' to me. There was some big fruit: black cherry, raspberry and even blackberry, but there was really not much else. There was not the earthiness that I associate with top notch pinot and virtually no grip on the backend. To say I was a bit disappointed would be accurate. Still a nice quaff, but not what I had hoped.

(Trefethen Family Vineyards Pinot Noir Estate) Subtle and complex, the nose of anise, clove, dried cherry, ripe plum, and liquid smoke blooms into a soft and elegant palate, where raspberry, prune, and strawberry-yogurt flavors meld with velvety tannins and a delightful smokiness. Cherry cola cran, bold present fruit. Lingering finish. Wonderful and big. Still drinking perfect.

Cherry cola nose, bold palate, cran cherry taste; refined tannins; mid+ finish. Still a lovely wine but starting to fade. Drink in the next 2-3 years.
