The aroma is full of sweet cherry and spiced raspberry jam tones. There is a cacao powder and anise quality that gives this wine some definition, with lavender, roses, and sandlewood appearing on the spin.
Soft and tender tones of cherry and raspberry introduce the palate. There are notes of tar and a very clear berry-like quality that is accompanied by perfectly ripe acidity. Soft suede and cacao powder with rose and lavender make themselves known approaching the finish. There is a delicacy to this wine that I find very impressive. Its clarity and transparency on the palate make it almost similar in style to a well made, light bodied Pinot Noir. There’s lots of complexity going on, and the balance between ripe fruit and earthy floral tones is very impressive.
