(Anselmo Mendes Alvarinho Muros Antigos, Vinho Verde) The Albariño grape, which has found fame in the Rías Baixas region of Spain, changes its name when it crosses the Portuguese border into the Vinho Verde Denominação de Origem Controlada. Although most of the wines from the region are blends, this Muros Antigos (“old vines”) is 100% Alvarinho, showing fresh floral and citrus aromatics, bright acidity, and surprising richness.
