Another really enjoyable wine from La Rochelle. Popped and poured a glass and was greeted with rose petals and pomegranate. Pure and clean strawberry, red fruits and black cherry flavors framed with black tea notes. Zippy acidity that was really tart, but has mellowed. Tannins are ripe and less with less grip than other '06 California Pinots (winemaking notes mentioned 2 weeks extended maceration). I didn't detect any heat despite the 15.8% alcohol on the label nd this doesn't drink like a high alcohol pinot. I like what they are doing here style-wise and it is nice to have a pinot producer here in the valley. My only nit..the complexity/enjoyment isn't quite on par with the $48 price tag.
