Clear, deep garnet with very slight rim browning. Cherry, pomegranate, white pepper. Medium acids, medium tannins. Menthol. Long balanced finish. Cellars of Sonoma tasting room.

Aroma of black cherry and baking spices with a dark ruby appearance. Flavors of black cherry, red cherry, vanilla, medium tannin and medium plus body. Long finish with cherry notes.
Flavor started to fade somewhat 45 minutes after opening but this was an excellent, smooth syrah. Not sure I'd want to cellar this much longer.

Much better than the bottle I drank a few years ago. Hints of flowers on the nose, a bit of cola, blueberries on the palate. A little to alcoholic for my personal taste but it was integrated well and was pleasant overall. Pretty sure there's nothing left to age and this is at or beyond its peak.

(La Sirena Barrett Vineyards Syrah) COLOR-dark; NOSE-fantastic; lot of dark fruit; some minerality; some vanilla & oak; a spicy cinnamon on the back-end (an Egg Nog aspect); PALATE-this is huge; very complex; quite a bit of licorice; blackberries for days; this is a very serious effort; almost like a Northern Rhone effort with a little sunshine; really has a nice backbone and a little soil and minerality; I feel like I should bite this wine; it's chewy; this is a very good wine; GV-94/95

Well integrated oak, yet prominent. Flavors don't have focus, and are somewhat mute. Somewhat disappointing.

Juicy and spicy, with good acidity. Oak plus, but integrated. Had to blow off some band-aid aromas, but recovered after an hour.
