  • 4th Saturday Brown Bagger (J&L's): Our last bottle, double decanted off its sediment a couple of hours before the flight was poured. I had wanted this to end up in the first flight but when the bottles were mixed this was moved back a bit. Cherry, bouillon and earth tones on the nose and palate. A bit short on the finish. This definitely suffered from the extended aeration.

  • Our penultimate bottle, popped and poured. Black cherry and dark pinot fruit notes, along with a bit of baking spice and a subtle herbal undertone. Seamless along the palate, with flavors of baked cherries, nutmeg and just a hint of cola. Wild strawberry qualities in the lengthy finish.

  • Toward the end of its drinking window, but holding up nicely. Rounded and mellow flavors that primarily contain baked cherries, muted strawberries and some backing spice. Everything feels integrated on the palate - I think it's a pretty graceful example of mature New World Pinot Noir. Happy to have one more that I will drink in the next couple of years.

  • Hard to believe I haven't had this in five years. Popped and poured. Showing a touch of age with some browning at the edge but still possesses a deep ruby/crimson core. Initial note of sandalwood with cherry and baking spice as well. Wild strawberry and Asian spice notes as it opens in the glass. Soft, silky texture, this glides effortlessly across the palate. Flavors of black cherry, strawberry jam, nutmeg and something along the lines of clove. The fruit and spice tones linger on the palate. I am just sipping this on its own but this would do very, very well at the supper table with a wide range of fare. Very happy to have two left, which we'll put in the queue for near term drinking.

  • More dark fruit than red this time around, along with cinnamon and hints of cherry in the background. Plum, cherry and spice on the palate. Medium+ finish.
