  • Surprised by some of the other notes, and by the short drinking window. In its 20th year (and from magnum of course), this wine is drinking really well. The fragrance whilst I was decanting it was beautiful - perfumed and floral. Two hours later it was really singing and much enjoyed by everyone at dinner. Delightful now, it likely has 5 or even more years ahead of it, if you have a few and want to taste them over time.

  • This is a big wine from a notoriously hot vintage. While not nuanced, this has enormous charm and personality. Stunning classic Nebbiolo nose with all the tar and violets one could ask for. Thick with sediment so pour slowly. Didn't improve with air, which was unusual.

  • PnP previous notes apply. Incredible dark chocolate covered cherries. Good acidity great mouth feel with a long finish of dark cherries. Nose was typical Babaresco terroir. But rather non description. Palate complex flavors. Smooth palate but needs to open more because of the high acidity. Great wine! Especially from this vintage.

30 minutes in a stunning nose of flavored pipe tobacco, still dark cherries and chocolate and field mushrooms. Palate silky smooth. Lowered acidity. WOW
